Young Musician's Course

Student age: 6 & 7 years old (age as of Oct 31, 2021)
Parent participation: Required
Instrument at home: piano or keyboard required for home practice

The Young Musicians Course is a keyboard-based program which focuses on developing a well rounded musician.The areas covered in this course are 

• Creativity
• Ear training
• Ensemble playing (playing as a group)
• Harmony
• Reading music
• Rhythm
• Singing with lyrics
• Singing with solfege
• Solo keyboard playing
• Theory
• Utilizing the different orchestral sounds on the keyboard

Ear training is emphasized as it enables students to eventually play by ear, improvise and compose.

Materials include a music bag, two full-color textbooks and two orchestrated CDs.
